I Am Earning S$3000 per Month, Can I claim overtime?
If you are covered under Part IV of Employment Act, you are eligible for the overtime pay.
Employees who are covered under Part IV of Employment Act:
(1) Non-workmen from a basic monthly salary of $2,000.
(2) Workmen at a basic monthly salary of $4,500.
Any employee who is earning S$2000 and lesser, will be eligible for overtime, regardless their designation.
For employee who is classified as workmen (labour work involved), eg. welder, they can claim overtime if their salary is $4,500 and below. Some jobs are actually fall under the grey area, where supervisory, admin and labor works are involved, for this instance, the employer can consult MOM for advice by giving detail job scopes.
