Are staffs who are deemed as part-timers obliged to produce medical certificate if they call in to report sick and cannot turn up for work?

Yes, part timers are the employee who perform lesser working hour, and they shall has the pro-rated benefits as per Employment Act. Hence, they should produce medical certificate to justify for the sick leave application.
