I saw the answer for question 'If public holidays fall on Sunday' however would like to check what will happen if public holidays fall on Saturday? Is the employee (working 5 days) entitled to any replacement holidays?

According to the Employment Act, if the public holiday falls on a rest day, the next working day will be a paid holiday. Saturday is a non-working day and if it is a Public Holiday for 5-day work week employees, many companies will usually credit the additional day into annual leave entitlement. It is advisable for employer to announce to the employees the expiry date of this particular day leave to avoid unnecessary dispute.
