Can I apply the extended maternity leave during the notice period?

I have completed about 15 weeks of maternity leaves with a balance of 8 days that can be taken flexi.I am tendering my resignation now and giving one month notice. Understand that employees cannot use the maternity leave to serve as resignation notice period, I would like to know (1) can I resign since I have yet to utlise my maternity leave; (2) can I apply the extended maternity leave during the notice period. Thanks.

1. Any employee can resign with proper resignation tendered and serving the required notice or paying notice in lieu.

2. No. Employee cannot use the maternity benefit period to offset notice of termination.
