I have an employee still under the 3 months probation, he was taking 1 day unpaid leave without approval on the day before the Singapore public holiday(Hari Raya Haji).May I know whether the employee still entitled to the public holiday since he take 1 day unpaid leave without management approval?
HR can execute disciplinary action, i.e. counseling/verbal warning/warning letter (depends on each company’s disciplinary protocol) for your employee who went for leave without formal leave approval. His unapproved leave shall be treated as unpaid.
Yes, the employee shall still be entitled to the Public Holiday as it is the gazetted holiday he is entitled to.
