Would a sales person expect to receive an AWS (Annual Wage Supplement) in addition to participating in an Incentive Compensation based on their performance against sales goals? The position we are talking about is a higher level sales person and likely be the only person in the country that we hire.
Annual Wage Supplement (AWS) is not mandatory and it depends on individual employment contract and company policy. However, it becomes the norm for most Singapore company to practise the AWS payout although there are still some small variations on how the payment being paid for example when and eligibility.
Some companies do not pay AWS for executive level but only the rank and file, some AWS do not extend to the core management team but replace with profit sharing. It much depends on how your compensation policy being designed.
